Who We Are | What We Believe

Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always to the very end of the age.

Matthew 28:19-20

Our Focus is on Jesus

Jesus is at the center of everything we do at Bermudian Church,  We serve, sing, teach, preach, and pray in His name. Our past, present, and future means nothing if we don't remain focused on Jesus Christ.  Our purpose is to make much of Jesus and His gospel message and grow to be more like Jesus.

Bermudian Church is a place where people live to serve Christ Jesus.  Who truly care about each other and our neighbors.  We laugh, work, play, and eat together.  We pray together and we worship together.  We're large enough to make a difference in our community and in the world, yet still small enough to feel like a warm, friendly, and close-knit family.

Who We Are

We desire to enable every person to experience the living Christ in transforming ways.   We place great emphasis on worship, on prayer, on service to others, on sacraments like communion and baptism and spiritual disciplines to be practiced individually and collectively.  We strive to grow and encourage one another by being connected in small groups, as well as being part of the larger faith community at Bermudian Church, and beyond.

Who We Are

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. - James 4:8 (EVS)

Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. - Hebrews 4:16 (NIV)

What We Believe

Our faith is built on the belief that there is but one true God who is a personal God, who in love creates, sustains, and orders all.  That Jesus Christ is the Son of God who offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all by dying on the cross. Who ascended to Heaven where he is the only Mediator between God and people.  Who will return again to reign King of Kings of the Church and of all life.  That the Holy Spirit lives in every Christian and sustains The Church through the Gospel and comforts and empowers believers who seek to live by the Word of God; which is the Bible – the unique, full, and final authority on all matters of faith and practice.

What We Believe

Experience

We believe spiritual transformation happens when God stirs up the winds of change in people’s hearts, convicts them of sins, and emboldens them to act in faith.  That our salvation is a free gift from God – to all who are willing to accept it. And, that faithful following of Jesus Christ and obedience to the will of God guide the life-long journey of the struggling but joyful Christian.

Throughout Scripture, God made His presence known to individuals like Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and Isaiah, among others, as well as to His people - the Hebrews, and the early Christian Church. The presence of God powerfully transformed them in that time, and in us still today, while fully acknowledging that our very access to God was secured in Jesus' sacrifice at the cross on our behalf.

Worship

The heartbeat of our worship ministry is to inspire people to encounter God. John 4:24 says that God is "seeking" or looking for true, authentic worshipers and this is the reason we desire to be a worshiping church.  We want to inspire people to have a personal life-changing encounter with God.  We want people to live a lifestyle of worship unto God on a daily basis,

and we want to put Jesus at the center of our lives and our corporate gatherings. Expect to hear everything from hymns to the more recent contemporary music you hear on the radio. We use music to show our Lord how much we love and honor Him.
